Biography

Dr Nisreen Ameen is Director of the Digital Organisation and Society Research Centre at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is an internationally leading researcher in artificial intelligence (AI), with an interdisciplinary focus spanning responsible AI, inclusive AI skills development, AI-driven innovation ecosystems, and inclusive entrepreneurship. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in world-leading journals, and her work has been cited in policy reports by the European Parliament, United Nations, and Onward. Nisreen has led nationally significant, externally funded projects supported by The British Academy, Innovate UK, and the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), in partnership with the Department for Education/Skills England. She is a member of the UK Government Digital Inclusion Action Plan Committee set by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to support the work of the government in reducing digital exclusion in every part of the UK. Within BAM, she is Co-Chair of a Special Interest Group and Chair of the BAM 2026 Conference, which will be hosted at Royal Holloway. She also serves as Ambassador for Research at the Institute of Directors (a network of 20,000 directors across the UK), and is President of the Immersive Digital Environments SIG at the Association for Information Systems.
