Emile du Plessis is a senior economist with over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Emile is a regular speaker at executive meetings, industry forums and on radio and television programmes. He serves as board member at the Bureau of Market Research. Emile won the 2019 and 2022 Refinitiv StarMine Award for Most Accurate Forecasting of a Foreign Exchange Rate. He established and leads an applied Behavioural Economics capability across 15 countries on the continent. Emile holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Hamburg in Germany, and won a Science Award from the Deutsche Bundesbank for his research. He is currently completing an MBA in Executive Management with a focus on artificial intelligence at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Cape Town.
