Biography

Özgü is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Entrepreneurship at the University of Sussex Business School. Prior to joining the University of Sussex, she was a visiting researcher at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation. She completed her PhD at the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM), University of Geneva, Switzerland (2019) where she was working as a teaching and research assistant and contributing to the Geneva Public-Private Partnership Research Center. Before doing her PhD, she worked as an education specialist for various NGOs. Her research interest includes organisation theory, social enterprises and cross-sector partnerships. Her research has been published in Public Administration Review, Journal of Business Ethics and Business & Society. She has presented her research at several international conferences such as the Academy of Management (AOM), the European Group for Organisational Studies (EGOS) and the British Academy of Management (BAM). She is a reviewer for Business & Society, Journal of Business Ethics and AOM. She is a member of the Geneva Partnership & Innovation Center and she has also worked on consultancy research projects for United Nations Agencies. Özgü is member of the University of Sussex Responsible Business Research Mobilizer Group and departmental Study Abroad representative. She is also an adjunct lecturer at the University of Bucharest. She holds a PGCERT in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Özgü is also the coordinator of Junior Research Associate (JRA) Scheme at the Business School.
