Dr. Robert Venter is currently a senior lecturer in the School of Business Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (Wits) from where he received his PhD. He is additionally a sessional lecturer at the Wits Business School. He is co-director of the internationally collaborative Strategic Foresight Research Group, and inaugural director of the Wits Entrepreneurship Clinic. His research interests include developmental entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on the intersection between economic inclusivity, sustainability and entrepreneurial behaviour. His research appears in journals such as Development Southern Africa, the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, Journal of International Education in Business, Journal of African Business, and Sustainability, as well as edited books, such as Entrepreneurship and Society (Pearson, 2014), Sustainable Entrepreneurship (Routledge, 2019), and /Handbook of Sustainability-Driven Business Strategies in Practice (Edward Elgar, 2021). He is co-editor of three books for Oxford University Press, including Entrepreneurship Theory in Practice, Labour Relations in South Africa, and Project Management in Perspective.
