Yueling Sima is a PhD Scholar in the Department of Management and Marketing and the Department of Economics, Cork University Business School (CUBS). She is also a PhD researcher affiliated with the Global Competitive Institution (GCI) and the Spatial and Regional Economics Research Centre (SRERC), CUBS, UCC. Yueling has joined UCC from the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), Beijing, where she holds an MSc in International Business (2020). She also has a strong economic background and holds a BA in International Economics and Trade (2018). After being awarded a CUBS PhD Scholarship at UCC, Yueling commenced her interdisciplinary PhD in early 2021. The working title of the thesis is “Internationalising Irish Business: The antecedents and process of transitioning from SME to MNC”. Under the supervision of Professor Thomas C. Lawton, Professor Justin Doran and Doctor Nóirín McCarthy, Yueling has attended and participated in several conferences and symposia in her first year PhD study, both nationally and internationally. She currently has a working paper under review with an academic journal.
