Abstract:

The workplace phenomenon of job motivation has been a topic of close concern in both academic and practical circles in recent years. Job motivation can be divided into intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation to understand how motivation affects personal behavior. This study explores the relationship between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on task performance based on the dual-path motivation of self-determination theory. It also includes professional abilities and physical attractiveness as distracting characters. Activating subordinates' motivation to achieve task performance. This study took current employees as the research object, distributed a total of 200 questionnaire samples, and 123 valid questionnaires were collected. The time isolation method was used to collect data, and the hypothesis was verified through SPSS software. The research results show that: (1) Intrinsic motivation is positively related to task performance; (2) Extrinsic motivation is positively related to task performance; (3) When supervisors have better professional abilities, subordinates’ intrinsic motivation and task performance will be strengthened; (4) When supervisors have high physical attractiveness, subordinates' extrinsic motivation and task performance will be strengthened. Based on the empirical research results, this study proposes practical management implications and future research suggestions.
