Abstract:

Hunger is both a violation of human dignity and a barrier to social, political, and economic advancement (FAO Council 2010). In order to address food insecurity through food redistribution, many countries such as the UK, Italy, Germany, and Denmark have implemented food sharing initiatives. One of the primary challenges faced by food sharing communities pertains to their ability to create social value. Thus, there is an urgent need for research to explore solutions for enhancing the social value of food sharing communities and bolstering their capacity and resilience to meet the growing demand for food help. The main aim of this paper is to develop a peer learning framework that can be used to support the creation of closed-loop social value networks within food sharing communities.
