Abstract:

Our paper contributes to the debate on small firms’ internationalisation process by investigating the role of trust and commitments in the entrepreneurial exploitation of international opportunities. The study collected data from 157 British small exporters in the region of Southeast Asia. Our study confirms that trust and resources commitment are energising forces in developing entrepreneurial exploitation capabilities which consequently influence export performance. The findings also support our argument that entrepreneurial exploitation dynamic capabilities mediate the relationship between trust-resource commitment and firms’ international performance.
