Biography

Merlyn Tjimuku is a dedicated Ph.D. candidate in Business Administration at the International University of Management (IUM) in Namibia. Her academic journey commenced with a Bachelor's degree in management from the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST) in 2017, followed by the attainment of a Master's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Management, from IUM in 2021. With over 18 years of professional experience in various positions and currently a Senior Business Analyst, Merlyn has left a notable imprint on the industry. Driven by a passion for understanding and enhancing workplace dynamics, her research interests span Administration, Management, Organizational Behavior, and Development. Her commitment to academia transcends her studies, she contributed to the academic community as a Programme Advisory Committee member at NUST, where her role was instrumental in the implementation of the Bachelor of Business and Information Administration degree. Merlyn's scholarly pursuits are both diverse and impactful. She has authored a book chapter, titled "Integrating Digital and Human Labor for Sustainable Production", and provided critical feedback on one book chapter and two manuscripts, contributing significantly to academic discourse. As a Ph.D. candidate, Merlyn achieved a significant milestone with the publication of her two journal articles, titled "Addressing workplace diversity to improve employee performance: implications for SOEs in Namibia" and "Mapping Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Capital Research: A Bibliometric Analysis and Future Research Agenda". This pioneering research sheds light on the intricate dynamics of workplace environments within Namibian SOEs, enriching the academic landscape.
