Biography

Associate Professor (2006), Full Professor (2012), Dean (2021-2024) and Vice-Director (2018-2022) of FEA-USP. Director responsible for CEPID-BRIDGE: Building Radical Innovation Disruptive Global Ecosystems. Holds a degree in Economics (1972) as a Horácio Berlinck Award scholarship recipient. Master's (1978) and doctorate (1981) in Administration from the Faculty of Economics, Administration, Accounting and Actuarial Science of the University of São Paulo, both with distinction and honors. Post-doctorate in Paris at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (1985), as a scholarship recipient of the Conseil National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). He was a member of the Implementation Council of USP Leste, responsible for the creation and coordination of the undergraduate course in Marketing at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of São Paulo (2003-2008). He was a Productivity Researcher 1D and a member of the Advisory Committee in Economics, Administration and Accounting (CA-AE) of CNPq from 2021-2024. He was awarded the 1st Lifetime Achievement Award in Marketing by ANPAD and the Academic Trajectory and Emeritus Associate Awards from that institution. He was Coordinator of the Marketing Division, a member of the Scientific Committee, and founder of the 1st Ethics Committee of ANPAD. He is the author of several books and book chapters in Brazil and abroad, and of articles published in leading national journals in Administration (BAR, RAC, RAE, RAUSP, RBGN, REMARK, BASE, PRODUÇÃO, Revista Brasileira de Estatística, Future Studies Research Journal) and in highly relevant journals in Marketing (Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Business Research) and in important international periodicals (Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Journal of Interactive Marketing, International Journal of Forecasting, International Journal of Public Administration, Journal of Public Administration and Policy Research, Political Analysis, Journal of Choice Modeling, Journal of Applied Statistics, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Social Marketing, Business Management Review, Business Systems Review, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, Customer Needs and Solutions, Journal of Global Information Management, International Journal of Marketing Studies, Marketing Intelligence Planning, Management Decision, Latin American Advances in Consumer Research, Pan-American Journal of Public Health, Trziste, Diálogos de la Comunicación, Revista de Research in Communication and Development, Studies and Perspectives in Tourism).
