Biography

Dr. Nurat Ajibade is a Senior Lecturer and BSc Accounting & Finance Course Leader at the Royal Docks School of Business & Law, University of East London. She is an established scholar in SMEs finance, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and inclusive economic development, with particular expertise in emerging and African economies. Her academic portfolio spans accounting, finance, management, and international business, complemented by an MBA (International) and extensive cross-border academic engagement. Her doctoral research interrogates the structural financing constraints facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and advances ecosystem-based frameworks for inclusive innovation and sustainable development. Dr. Ajibade’s research sits at the intersection of development finance, digital financial inclusion, and enterprise transformation. She is particularly recognised for reframing SMEs finance as a systemic ecosystem function rather than a narrow credit constraint, offering policy-relevant insights for governments, financial institutions, and development agencies. Her work contributes to debates on sustainable growth, financial architecture reform, and inclusive economic participation across Africa and other emerging markets.
