Abstract:

Leadership responsibility is important, especially where the leader’s decision is related to the people's lives. Collaborative leadership is one of the important approaches in responding to a crisis/disaster. Previous crises and disasters have shown the need for collaboration to effectively respond to and manage the crises. This study seeks to understand how crises and disaster-related theories support the collaborative leadership approach. Collaborative leadership and collaborative efforts are recent approaches in times of crises/disasters. This study is trying to fill this research gap by understanding how collaborative leadership fits in the field of crises and disaster management. The author used the COVID-19 context as the case to draw the data from. Three ministries in Saudi Arabia were selected to gather more information about how they performed during the pandemic.
