I’m a Lecturer of Organisation Studies and Sustainability. My doctoral thesis explored gender diversity on corporate boards in the Middle East through a Bourdieusian framework supplemented with Connell’s concept of hegemonic masculinity. My research interest includes the sociology of gender, femininities and masculinities, feminist and alternative forms of organising, affects and emotions, intersectionality, and intersectional inequalities in organisations. In exploring these themes, I use unconventional qualitative methodologies such as autoethnography (duo, collective) and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). I’m passionate about ‘writing differently’ and the use of art-based methods (paintings, drawings, poems, diaries). My writing is inspired by feminist writers such as Hélène Cixous, Simone de Beauvior, Audre Lorde, bell hooks and Sarah Ahmed.
