Biography

I am a qualitative researcher in HRM, focusing on advancing equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in both organisational and broader societal contexts. I have served as a Co-Investigator in the £4.2 million EDI Caucus, funded by UKRI and the British Academy, which aims to accelerate equity across the research and innovation ecosystem. I have also served as Deputy Lead for Workstream 1, which focuses on identifying the relationships between key career and life events and their mutual impacts, with the goal of developing evidence-based recommendations to reduce barriers to inclusion throughout individuals’ careers. I lead the Inclusive Careers in Engineering (ICE) project, funded through a British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grant, which aims to promote equitable career progression for marginalised engineers. In addition, I am an Honorary Researcher at Public Health Scotland, where I contribute to the Equity and Justice Cross-Organisational Programme, supporting workplace inclusion efforts aligned with the Scottish Government’s agenda. My research projects explore the responsible and inclusive use of AI in HRM, inclusive approaches to career progression, and effective socialisation in both virtual and physical work environments. I am also interested in examining contemporary work contexts, such as cross-boundary, temporary and hybrid working arrangements, which reflect the evolving future of work. I am committed to improving individuals’ work experiences and career development by fostering inclusive, accessible and supportive workplace environments.
