Biography

Seray Begum Samur Teraman received BA in International Relations (in English) with an honour degree at Istanbul Kultur University where she was granted a full scholarship. Then, she continued her academic career by studying for MBA. She studied Innovative Work Behaviors and Organizational Innovativeness for her MBA thesis. Then, she was admitted to the doctoral program in Marmara University, department of Management and Organization (in English) where she successfully completed and was awarded PhD degree in April 2017. Her PhD studies specifically focus on Entrepreneurial Assistance Programs in the context of Entrepreneurial Mentoring. In addition, her broader research interests include mainly Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Mentoring and Coaching, Entrepreneurial Assistance/Supporting Programs, Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, Innovation-Innovative Orientation. Until now, she has participated in several national and international conferences and published several articles in academic journals. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor for Istanbul Kultur University in the department of Entrepreneurship and post-doctoral research fellow at Birmingham City University, Business School with her project funded by Scientific and Research Council of Türkiye. Besides her academic background, she is a member of TUGIM (Tüm Girişimci ve İş Mentorları Derneği in Turkish) and has been mentoring startups for years, particularly in business development, creating an effective team composition, customizing strategies for international scaling up. She also took part as a mentor for INOSUIT- Innovation Focused Mentorship Program (Turkish Exporters Assembly), which is based on university-industry collaboration and aims to increase innovation capacity of mentee companies through designing appropriate institutional structure.
