Biography

Professor Sameer Hosany is Head of Department and Professor of Marketing at Royal Holloway Business School. His research sits at the intersection of psychology, marketing, and tourism, with a particular focus on consumer (tourist) behaviour and emotional experiences. He has also expanded his work into sustainable behaviour, women’s entrepreneurship, and human interaction with smart technologies. Sameer is internationally recognised for his scholarly impact. He is ranked among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists (Stanford University list) and was named a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate (top 1% globally). His research has appeared in leading journals such as Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Business Research, and Psychology & Marketing. Two of his papers were selected among the 22 most celebrated articles published in the Journal of Travel Research over the past 50 years. Methodologically, he has strong expertise in quantitative research, including scale development and validation, structural equation modelling (SEM), PLS path modelling, experimental design, mediation and moderation analysis, and advanced multivariate techniques. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Travel Research and previously held the role of Associate Editor at the Journal of Business Research. His work has received multiple international awards and has been widely featured in global media outlets such as The Washington Post and The Conversation. Professor Hosany is also an experienced doctoral supervisor and educator, teaching advanced quantitative methods and marketing research at postgraduate and doctoral levels.
