Biography

Hi, I’m Amna, Lecturer, researcher, and advocate for more inclusive workplaces. My work focuses on women at work, motherhood, return-to-work experiences, and organisational behaviour especially the often-unspoken realities women navigate while balancing professional and personal identities. Currently pursuing a PhD in Management at the University of Leicester, I research the maternal-professional identity experiences of Emirati women in healthcare, contributing to conversations around workplace inclusion, culture, and sustainable organisational practices in the Gulf region. As an educator at the University of Wollongong Dubai and previously at Heriot-Watt Dubai, I believe learning happens through guidance, nurturing, and meaningful conversations, not just lectures. That industry experience continues to shape how I connect theory with practice today. Whether through research, mentoring, or teaching, I’m passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
