I study why employability and capability do not convert equally into career progression and leadership. My research conceptualises employability as an ecosystem—a longitudinal, institutionally mediated process shaped by organisational power, HR systems, and institutional logics. Working at the intersection of Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management, I examine how careers unfold over time, and why leadership progression stalls or becomes bounded despite sustained performance. Across higher education, public sector, and corporate contexts, my work challenges meritocratic assumptions by showing how organisational systems, evaluation practices, and informal gatekeeping shape unequal career outcomes, particularly for women and ethnically diverse professionals. My research draws on longitudinal qualitative methods and has been published in leading international journals in Organisation Studies, HRM, and Higher Education. I am currently developing ARC Linkage–ready research in collaboration with universities, public sector agencies, and industry partners, with a focus on redesigning employability and leadership systems to support more equitable and sustainable career progression. I engage with scholars, policymakers, and practitioners interested in careers, leadership, employability, and organisational inequality. Open to research collaboration, policy engagement, and evidence-based executive education.
