Biography

I am a researcher on how enterprises create value, and more specifically on how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) re-invent themselves through strategic renewal such that they adapt and survive in a business environment that is prone to eliminate contenders that are not prepared to face diverse challenges lying ahead of them. Organizations choose to adapt through various means, to continue creating value, and one of these means is represented by emerging technologies, as radical, unproven, but promising technologies that present the potential to significantly impact an existing industry or create a new one. Emerging technologies rely on technology innovation, and its adoption, as a decision-making process exercised by enterprise owners and managers for driving competitive advantage, one of the pre-requisites for firm sustainable performance. I also learned from early years that continuous education and knowledge gathering are paths for success. As I benefited from continuous education in all my endeavours, in turn I am sharing that experience, through teaching in undergraduate and master programs, on top of my regular role as an engineering leader for a reputable firm in the aerospace industry. I am having a reach professional experience with a technical foundation in engineering, and significant contributions in new product development cross-functional team management, full life cycle product management, information systems implementation and teaching experience in marketing and information systems.
