Gender in Management Full Paper Session 5: Gendered Work and Life Transitions: Careers, Care and Empowerment
Downloads
This session explores how gendered expectations shape careers, work and life transitions across diverse cultural and organizational contexts. The papers examine men's career experiences in female-dominated professions, women entrepreneurs' negotiation of domestic and business roles, mothers' return-to-work decisions following occupational downgrading, and women's empowerment in patriarchal urban settings. Together, they provide new insights into how individuals navigate gendered norms, caregiving responsibilities and structural constraints while redefining work, identity and opportunity.
