Abstract
Western philosophical traditions and normative ethical theories are well trodden in their discussion and application within the field of business ethics. Yet while the field has increasingly sought to broaden the voices and theories it encompasses normative ethical theory from alternative geographic and cultural contexts remain under-explored or excluded. We address this lacunae through drawing the ethical canon Mahatma Gandhi’s into the business ethics field. Within this paper we outline and transpose Gandhi's work into a distinct business ethics theory composed of a set of core values, concept of business purpose and approach to conflict management.
