Abstract
This paper explores the dynamics of a family-owned enterprise through the lens of the American soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, focusing on the diverse conflicts that arise in the fictional Forrester family business. Drawing on the socio-emotional wealth (SEW) paradigm, we are undertaking a qualitative character and narrative analysis to derive insights relevant to real-world family firms. Preliminary narrative analysis identifies forms of conflict including sibling rivalry, intergenerational struggles, nepotism, and tensions between family and business goals and interprets them through SEW’s dimensions.
