Abstract
Extant HRM research highlights how line managers play a leading role in ensuring the successful implementation of HR policies to enhance the well-being of their professional workforce. However, most of this research is focused on professional/white collar employees while there is a notable lack of research on successful policy implementation for the wellbeing of blue-collar employees. By utilising the challenging workplace context of a sugar cane field in Central America after agricultural workers had just been introduced to a new well-being policy designed by top management, we uncover three mechanisms through which line managers facilitate the successful policy implementation for the well-being of blue-collar workers. Our study offers theoretical and practical contributions towards healthier and more inclusive future workplaces.
