Abstract
This study aims to further our understanding how geopolitical crisis impacts expatriates. The research builds on the recent calls for a better understanding of how macro-level external geopolitical crises trigger individual-level reactions. We use an online survey distributed to expatriates worldwide. Based on preliminary results, we conclude that expatriates’ reactions to geopolitical crisis differs depending on their home country’s involvement in the crisis, as well as on the geopolitical stance of their organization towards the conflict. In particular, we find that the corporate geopolitical stance and home geopolitical involvement impact expatriates’ individual-level reactions, such as organizational identification and commitment.
