Abstract
The healthcare industry plays a crucial role in modern society, with its primary focus being on the enhancement and maintenance of people' overall health and wellness. Care homes have a distinctive and essential function within the diverse industry. These establishments function as the dwellings for older adults and those who are susceptible and in need of particular care and attention, often as a result of age-related ailments, persistent diseases, or impairments. In line with this, the present study aimed at evaluating the influence of various leadership styles on the performance and skill development of project teams within the healthcare industry, specifically in care homes. The study used primary data that was collected from 50 respondent selected through snowball sampling method. In collecting the data, the study used a structured questionnaire that was distributed through Microsoft forms. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) was objectively conducted on the collected data. The study found that both the transformational and servant leadership styles contribute to stepped-up team performance and skill development in a healthcare setting. These two kinds of leadership approaches not only create a good working atmosphere, they stimulate creativity and are very important in the process for directing team efforts to fulfill organizational objectives and ensure high quality patient care. The study recommends that healthcare settings and in particular care homes should implement and strengthen transformational and servant leadership styles in order to optimize team performance, promote skill development, and enhance the overall quality of patient care.
