Abstract
Propelled by increasing complexity, sustainability pressures, globalisation and demand for real-time visibility and resilience, the global logistics industry is experiencing a quick and significant digital transformation (Goncalves, et al. 2025). Among the pioneering enablers of these digital technologies are blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. Existing research have shown the individual beneficial characteristics of AI and blockchain, but studies on their integration for global logistics transformation have been fragmented and not yet fully explored (Zhang, et al. 2021; Tangsakul, et al. 2024). Using a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis, critically examined the research gaps that impede AI-blockchain integration for global logistics business transformation. The gaps discovered from the study that limit value chain creation are not due to technology alone but are strategic as well as governance and human oriented (Khan, et al. 2023). For the purpose of advancing theory, drive empirical research, and facilitating scalable industrial adoption, the report advocates for future research possibilities. Shifting the emphasises from technology-driven experimentation to business-oriented and system-level transformation, the results add to the body of knowledge on digital logistics, industry 4.0 and 5.0, and intelligent supply chains.
