This session explores how intersecting social identities and life circumstances shape women's experiences of leadership, work and economic participation. Drawing on perspectives from the UK and broader global contexts, the papers examine Black women's leadership identity tensions and the relationship between flexible working, parenthood and women's participation in the informal economy. Together, they highlight the importance of intersectional approaches to understanding inequality and advancing more inclusive workplaces and societies.
