Abstract
In this critical essay, we focus on HROs as evolving, adaptive and complex operating entities to support the shift to HROrganizing. This expands the pathways for academics and practitioners to learn about resilience from HROs in the pursuit of adaptation and implementation of their own “manner” of organizing. Recalling past accomplishments in the theorising of HROs, we highlight their multiple facets and call for a holistic approach to Mindful Organizing and Resilience Engineering, which are concepts that are hitherto treated as distinct. Drawing from Weick and colleague’s works, we unify the two concepts by centering on processual qualities they share.
