Abstract
Although AI has the potential to bring many benefits to an organisation, the lack of organisational readiness for AI could impede adoption. Organisations face myriad technical, organisational and cultural challenges in adopting AI. This paper aims to extend current research on organisational AI readiness with the aim of creating an updated AI readiness framework and a comprehensive research instrument that could be used to make a holistic assessment of organisational readiness factors. Literature on AI adoption and readiness factors has been briefly covered. A gap has been identified and the rationale for developing a holistic research instrument explained. The paper seeks to make theoretical, practical and methodological contributions to the understanding and evaluation of organisational AI readiness.
