Abstract
Upon reviewing some high-quality relevant paper publications and existing reviews, scholars have emphasized the crucial need to explore the intricate dynamics influencing decision-making in impact investments and the resulting consequences for social and environmental impact. Understanding how investors choose ventures for financing is vital for the survival and long-term success of new businesses. However, the existing body of knowledge is silent on these critical aspects of entrepreneurial financing within the emerging impact investment landscape.
To address this gap, we propose a study agenda that involves a systematic literature review to refine existing knowledge gaps and address the identified problem more precisely. Employing a proposed integrated systematic review approach, which provides a robust, transparent, and replicable method, we aim to uncover current research trends, identify overlooked areas, and propose potential future research paths. By participating in the development paper track at the BAM 2024 conference in the finance management track, we seek necessary feedback to advance our work. This feedback is expected to be part of the study refinement process, ultimately concluding with knowledge that sheds light on the underdevelopment of this research area and highlights the opportunity to establish a foundation for further theory and methodology augmentation in this field.
