Abstract
This development paper considers the potential of post-experience programmes, such as the MBA and Senior Leader Apprenticeships, to transform the lives and careers of the professional women who study them. It builds on previous research which suggests that despite the critiques of the MBA it might be women students who are more likely to report being transformed by the programme. In order to understand how women alumni perceive the experience to have impacted their career and broader lives, this development paper outlines plans for a pilot study. The development paper begins by considering the background to post-experience education and MBAs before considering prior literature on how such programmes might be seen as drivers of transformation. Following on from the theoretical positioning, the paper then describes the intended pilot study approach and the likely data that should be available prior to the conference
