Abstract
As the manufacturing supply chain is undergoing a digital revolution, manufacturers need to adopt digital technologies to remain competitive, but they face multifaceted challenges. This paper has identified various obstacles encountered by multiple stakeholders involved in the digitalisation of manufacturing. This includes an examination of the potential of a digital platform in mitigating these challenges, along with exploring the barriers hindering the widespread adoption of such a platform. Preliminary findings from a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods support the development of a digital platform to link diverse stakeholders, to assist manufacturers and service providers in their digitalization endeavours and to cater to the requirements of local communities. The development of such a platform will require co-creation with stakeholders to address their diverse requirements.
