Abstract
Circular economy (CE) and Industry 4.0 (I4.0) are emerging trends discussed in academia and industry to enable a sustainable economy. Research indicates that Industry 4.0 enabled Circular start-ups (CSU4.0) to implement novel strategies and acquire new capabilities to integrate technology and CE successfully. Critical Success Factors (CSFs) are necessary for an organization to achieve its objective. Dynamic capabilities, in turn, improve an organization's capacity to excel in its CSFs. This paper investigates the CSFs of CSU4.0 and the capabilities that lead to these CSFs. The PRISMA approach-based literature review is used to identify both the capabilities and CSFs. The CSFs were substantiated through expert interviews and validated empirically to assign priority orders. The results can provide a clear understanding of the CSFs of CSU4.0 from a capability point of view. This is one of the first studies to relate dynamic capabilities and CSFs of CSU4.0.
