Abstract
Interest in climate change is growing among scholars, as are the management strategies being implemented across countries. The management strategies by emerging economies continue to feature less in the literature, and also their contribution to the global carbon emissions reduction agenda remains minimal. We employ a systematic review methodology to examine the prevalent climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies in emerging economies as well as the underlying financing mechanisms. Our preliminary findings show an increasing focus on the subject on regional blocs that host some of the world’s largest emerging economies. We also reveal the lack of focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the link with climate change management strategies.
