Abstract
The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are reshaping corporate strategies towards sustainability, balancing economic growth with ethical conduct and environmental care. This paper critically examines the trends and challenges in integrating SDGs into business strategy, highlighting the rise of sustainability reporting as key to corporate accountability. Introducing "The Strategic SDG Alignment Model" (SSDGA Model), the paper proposes a tool for businesses to systematically embed SDGs into their strategic planning. The SSDGA Model fosters shared value through stakeholder engagement, selection of relevant SDGs, creation of measurable KPIs, and a cycle of continuous improvement. Advocating the model's effectiveness, the paper contends that the SSDGA Model bridges the gap between sustainability pledges and action, offering a dynamic, standardized approach for businesses to meaningfully contribute to global sustainability and secure their long-term success.
