Abstract
The dynamic nature of the business environment has piqued the interest of strategic planning scholars and practitioners in the entrepreneurial context. In the contemporary era, entrepreneurs have significantly contributed to the prosperity of the global economy. Although several researchers have explored strategic planning in entrepreneurial businesses, limited literature highlights the drivers and barriers of strategic planning and its implications for strategic management performance systems in Egyptian Entrepreneurial businesses. Therefore, the study aims to assess the effective strategies to extend the lifespan of entrepreneurial ventures by examining the drivers and barriers to strategic planning. Accordingly, the correlation between strategic planning and strategic management performance measures is examined. The study adopts a qualitative approach by conducting fifteen semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs. Consequently, the findings reveal that strategic alignment is a crucial dimension of the strategic planning process that entrepreneurs should execute to enhance the longevity of their businesses.
