Abstract
Guided-Flexible Teaching is a mindset and a teaching strategy that involves students in every aspect of teaching. Considering student voice in teaching has received little attention. This paper aims to introduce a theoretical framework for guided-flexible teaching based on a literature review for those educators and students who want to benefit from a new and effective approach to teaching. This study shows that genuinely student-led teaching should include and combine two dimensions of ‘aspects of teaching flexibility’ and the ‘extent of teaching flexibility’. The eight aspects of teaching flexibility are teaching style, technology, levels, time, duration, team, as well as teaching/lesson plan and classroom management. The extent of teaching flexibility can be low, medium, or high in general. The guided-flexible teaching matrix has emerged as a result of a systematic combination of eight aspects of teaching flexibility with three extent of teaching flexibility.
