Abstract
The concept of dignity, rooted in a sense of worth and respect within humanity, permeates various facets of life, notably in workplaces where daily challenges can either bolster or undermine it. Dignity issues, stemming from factors like powerlessness and communication barriers, profoundly impact employees. Through our review, it is understood that individual perceptions influence their sense of dignity. Drawing from philosophical perspectives, including self, others, and universal dimensions, this study examines how character strengths may influence one's sense of dignity. Through theoretical exploration and illustrative examples from Indian epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata, this work tries to establish the pivotal role of character strengths in navigating dignity related challenges. By elucidating the link between character strengths and dignity, this study contributes to management discourse amidst contemporary complexities like technological disruption, emphasizing the transformative potential of character development in fostering a more dignified and resilient society.
