Abstract
At the height of the global pandemic, it had become imperative for most organizations to rethink their ways of engaging with remote teams across geographic, business, and technological boundaries. As most organizations return to hybrid and/or full-time work from office, engaging geographically dispersed teams remains a challenge. Virtual team engagement is therefore one of the key challenges facing managers today. Our study presents an approach to design and deploy a behavioral intervention focusing on meeting best practices and demonstrates the impact of the intervention on meeting effectiveness, in a large global IT services organization. Meeting practices such as their structure, duration, plan, and their implementation in virtual teams in a global organization are examined for their impact on meeting effectiveness. Findings and insights for future work are discussed.
