Abstract
This Developmental paper provides updates on an on-going project on the role of the United Nations in the development of corporate social responsibility.
Our initial start point focused on the post-World War 2 period to the current day, specifically the period during which the United Nations was established and developed (1945). Our plan has been revised, and we now draw more strongly on business ethics and the political sciences, as well as scrutinising key geo-political events, along a timeline starting from the end of the 19th century to the present day, as integral to our analytical framework. Our analytical framework comprises Braudel's longue durêe, and ideas drawn from business ethics and poltical studies. Our core archive will be drawn from the United Nations, with a focus on policy declarations.
