Abstract
Background: Thriving at work has positive consequences for individuals and organisations. Due to relevant interactions between individuals and their local context for thriving, work teams as the most local work context should be investigated as an important context for thriving.
Purpose: This research project presents an integrative review of thriving in work teams, focusing on the current state of research and directions for future research.
Methodology: A systematic literature search on thriving in work teams will be conducted based on journal articles published since 2005.
Results: A multilevel framework will be proposed, based on the job demand-resource model, highlighting factors that impact thriving in work teams and aspects that are influenced by it, at three levels: individual, team, and organisational.
Contribution: The review will illustrate how thriving can be promoted at different levels, and contribute to the integration of team stress research with the literature on thriving at work.
