Abstract
This proposed study aims to investigate the impact of project managers' leadership styles on work-related outcomes within the dynamic context of project management. Grounded in the Conservation of Resources (COR) theory, this research will explore how project managers' ability to allocate and protect resources influences employee well-being and performance in project-based environments. Utilizing a qualitative research design, data will be collected through four focus groups, each comprising 10 participants, including project managers and employees from various industries in the UK. Thematic analysis will be employed to identify key themes related to leadership practices and their effects on employees' professional and personal lives. The anticipated findings are expected to reveal that effective leadership in project management involves strategic resource allocation, clear communication, and team empowerment, which are crucial for maintaining work-life balance and job satisfaction. This study aims to highlight the importance of leadership in navigating the unique challenges of project-based work, providing insights for enhancing leadership practices to foster a supportive and committed workforce.
