Abstract
Despite the growing body of research on destination image (DI) during COVID-19, the moderating role social media usage in the relationships between COVID-19-induced uncertainty-fear, DI, and revisit intent has received little attention. This study uses partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test five hypotheses with a sample of 410 international visitors. The results show that COVID-19's uncertainty-fear negatively affects both DI and revisit intent. However, social media usage can mitigate these negative effects. The paper concludes by discussing its theoretical and practical implications for tourism recovery and destination management.
