Abstract
The aim of this research is to find the important factors responsible for enabling people with disabilities (PWD) in the labour market, which is beneficial for both the disabled and the companies. Subsequently, this study identifies the cause-and-effect relation between the factors and extends it by incorporating fuzzy logic to handle uncertainties and vagueness in the decision process. This allows for a more in-depth examination of the variables affecting the employment of PWD. Representation in marketing materials is ranked the first, legal framework and supporting policies the second, inclusive social media engagement is ranked third, and disability awareness campaigns and employee resource group (ERG) is ranked fourth important causal factor in the study. Increased brand value and social acceptance is ranked first, increased ROI and stakeholder/shareholder value is ranked second, and higher self-esteem and financial independence of PWD is ranked third important effect factor in the study. Top management and businesses may use this study to portray themselves as leaders in diversity and inclusion and get a competitive edge over their rivals, which will boost brand perception. According to the findings, embracing diversity and inclusivity helps businesses achieve a competitive edge and improve their brand reputation. Businesses that embrace disability inclusion gain from a more varied and engaged workforce and a more inclusive and equitable society. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, limited researchers have used the fuzzy DEMATEL methodology in disability studies, and this study is the first to attempt to use the technique of fuzzy DEMATEL in disability studies, which adds to the study’s novelty.
