Abstract
Worldwide changes have escalated the occurrence of disruptions in recent years. Under such circumstances, moving to a resilience-focused supply chain system becomes essential. Due to the complex nature with multiple stakeholders and perishable nature of the goods, achieving resilience is particularly challenging in the agrifood sector. In our study, we investigated the capabilities which contribute to building resilience among the stakeholders by conducting semi-structured interviews across five levels of the tomato supply chain in Nalanda, India. We used the relational view theory, adaptive & transformative capabilities, and dynamic capabilities approach to recognise the resilience characteristics of the players. We find that technological integration, easy information flow and collaboration, provision of infrastructural facilities, insurance, minimum support prices, and provision of training and awareness programs are critical to developing a resilient supply chain.
