Abstract
With rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), the technology is becoming increasingly attractive for various organizational applications. Recent research highlights AI's potential for integration into organizational processes, automating tasks, and assisting employees by enhancing their decision-making. Particularly in corporate areas like Human Resource Management (HRM), which encompasses both strategic and operational aspects, AI’s impact can reshape key HRM functions, thus creating new roles and responsibilities. However, the shift toward more strategic activities and the overall implications for HR’s strategic positioning remain unexplored. This study adopts a multiple-case study approach to explore the impact of AI across key HR functions through expert interviews. We expect the results to reveal that AI integration redefines HR roles by automating operational HR activities while augmenting more complex tasks. These changes allow HR professionals to transition from specialists to strategic decision-makers within the organizational context. Ultimately, this shift enhances HR’s strategic influence within organizations.
