Abstract
The paper examines relationship between entrepreneurial motivation and willingness of informal entrepreneurs to register their businesses. The study seek to bridge theory, policy, and practice by bringing together research with policy and practice to provide understanding towards the development of institutional framework for institutionalising informal entrepreneurship to enhance access to otherwise constrained resources for survival and growth to improve the contribution of informal entrepreneurship to socioeconomic development in developing contexts, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa.
