Abstract
The integration of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the transportation industry, particularly in the logistics sector. While ML and AI offer the potential to optimize and streamline supply chains, there are several challenges to implementing these technologies, including the complexity of the logistics industry, technological stagnation, and resistance to change. However, ML and AI are promising for predicting demand, optimizing routes, and identifying security threats. The logistics industry involves multiple parties, different software systems, and data formats, making integration difficult, and many logistics companies still use legacy software systems. Despite these challenges, the article explores the current state of ML and AI integration in freight container logistics and identifies potential issues and the future direction of the industry.
