Abstract
Research on social enterprises has received much attention from scholars in the recent years. With their aim to create social and economic value, social enterprises require such business model that would allow them to pursue both objectives simultaneously. In this regard, governance in social enterprises is an essential element. Importantly, there are different legal structures for social enterprise governance and it is yet unknown to how these social enterprises engage with the stakeholder groups within their governance capabilities. Because both internal and external stakeholders can enhance the value creation process in social enterprises. In this paper, we study 10 social enterprises in the UK to understand how stakeholder engagement can contribute to the governance capabilities of social enterprises in enhancing the social value creation process.Research on social enterprises has received much attention from scholars in the recent years.
