Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the key challenges facing India's rapidly emerging high-tech start up ecosystem. The results, based on the surveys of leaders of high-tech start-ups, identify nine crucial challenges related to financing, human resources, regulatory bottlenecks, and innovation, and 45 sub-challenges facing high-tech start-ups in an emerging economy context. Of these, four challenges have a significant cause and effect relationship with the other challenges. Policymakers and industry leaders can significantly improve the end-to-end ecosystem to high-tech start-ups in India by prioritising and addressing these four key challenges. The paper offers novel insights for supporting entrepreneurial resilience and crisis management during and after the pandemic.
